Vakalolo
Vakalolo
is a Fijian desert pudding that is made from taro (peeled and finely grated),
coconut (finely grated), gingerroot (finely grated), brown sugar, clove
(grounded), cinnamon (grounded), banana leaves or aluminum foil, coconut milk
and salt. It is steam cooked and is very popular among the inhabitants of the
south pacific. The taro pudding is soft and full of flavor the sauce is added
to the pudding for sweetness, together they make a killer combo and will keep
you coming back for seconds and thirds.
